WEDDING IN THE ROCKIES

There is nothing more beautiful to behold than a couple so eloquently united by their personalities that you can see their love enmeshed within their chosen venue, wedding party members, decor colours and style. Picture this: grand, snow covered mountains all within kilometres of walking distance. A herd of wild elk nearby, gently meandering over the crunch of the frozen snow covered meadows. Tall pine trees gently swaying in the wind and a sunlit sky that is so beautifully blue it looks photoshopped.

Kate and Anthony chose the Silvertip Resort in Canmore, Alberta as their venue for their entire wedding day. The resort is nestled into 600 acres of mountain, grassland and valley views. It is private, well maintained and elegantly decorated. It's also the perfect place for a carefree mix of modern elegance and rustic wedding charm.

The ceremony was sunlit and warm (for a Canadian winter), with all the white chairs perfectly aligned in the direction of the mountains to the southeast of the venue. As Kate and Anthony shared their vows, the grooms' grandmother guided them through the ceremony as the Officiant. Upon the kiss sealing their marriage, there was a massive cheer from all of the family and friends that had arrived to share in this special union. There are some moments that uplift the energy of the day, this was definitely one of them!

In the collective calm after the ceremony, we embarked on completing our wedding portraits in the already cooling air of the afternoon. With two bridal dresses to work with, the options were endless. Hand in hand, I watched my couple walk away from me, small flakes of snow and ice swirling around them as if on cue. Serendipitous? I think so!

With a guest list from the United States to all over Canada, the return into the reception hour was joyful, bright and full of conversation. As always, the ritual of the evening unfolded amongst laughter, love and a delicious abundance of food. From start to finish, Kate and Anthony's wedding was a near duplicate to themselves -- beautiful, inside and out. Elegant, sophisticated but still fun and carefree. This was a wedding for the books!

**There are some highlight reels to add to this post before I officially sign off. First off, I think it's extremely important to be authentic and upfront. When I showed up to Kate and Anthony's rental to start their getting ready images DRENCHED in the Dragon drink from Starbucks (my favourite), I'm certain they were wondering what they hired. Add on, that shortly after wiping off all the majestic pink drink from my crotchal area, I then proceeded to fall down a flight of stairs with the groom directly behind me as we were starting with his portraits first. Let's insert a head smack here. Absolutely not my best start to a day, but hands down one of the most interesting!
